The Columbus India Festival in September was a huge success with more than 12,000 visitors getting a taste of Indian food, merchandise and culture in this one-day event. It is here, we first heard Sargam Kapoor sing live. Flying in from Delhi, India where she performs with her own band, Sargam showed no signs of jetlag as she first sang Bhajans in the morning and then film melodies in the evening. As she says, she enjoys singing all genres, and has her sights set on performing well in the TV talent hunt contests. SaReGaMa 2005 fame eluded her but in the same year she performed well in the Voice of Rajasthan contest and sang with the SaReGaMa finalists.
